Mission Statement
Ramah SDA Junior Academy (RJA) provides a Christ-centered
learning environment that promotes academic excellence while preparing its students for citizenship in this world and the
world to come.
Introduction
Ramah SDA Junior Academy (RJA) located in
the Cann Park Community of Savannah, is one of twenty learning institutions in Georgia,
North Carolina and South Carolina
that form a consortium of schools under the auspices of the Education Department of the South Atlantic Conference of Seventh-day
Adventists. RJA is a Pre-Kindergarten through ninth grade coeducational,
Christian school supported and operated by the West Broad
Seventh-day Adventist Church,
2501 Martin Luther King Boulevard in Savannah. The West Broad
SDA Church, with its membership of more than 1,800
has been a beacon in the greater Savannah area for decades. Its rich history, presence and teachings have drawn many to become a part of the church and school family.
Academics
RJA is accredited by the Office of Education of the Southern Union Conference
of Seventh-day Adventists and the National Council for Private Schools. Seventh-day Adventist schools (second largest private school system world-wide) are recognized throughout
the world for high quality, balanced instruction. The school's philosophy includes a thrust to make
all eighth grade graduates eligible to enter high school at the honors level. In addition to encouraging all students
to excel in the areas of computer technology, mathematics and science, RJA offers a strong Bible curriculum. The academic strength of the school comes from the expertise of our highly
educated and dedicated faculty and administration.
The curriculum of RJA conforms to national, state and denominational standards as set forth by the Education Department
of the North American Division of Seventh-day Adventists. RJA is accredited by
the Office of Education of the Southern Union Conference of Seventh-day Adventists and the National Council for Private Schools. This accreditation provides an efficient transfer of credits to other Seventh-day
Adventist schools, other private schools and public schools.
Ramah SDA Junior Academy provides
quality education to students without regard to race, religion, national origin or gender.
It is founded on the belief that all true wisdom and knowledge come from God, and that education involves the harmonious
development of the mental, physical, social, and spiritual aspects of each student.
For 97 years, students of the Savannah metropolitan area have studied at
Ramah where 85% of our graduates are admitted to the college of their choice once they reach college age. While RJA has an impeccable reputation for educating generations of children from the same family,
RJA continues to maintain distinction in the community for its
longevity of Christian service and accomplishment.
